Exodus Prime

Personal work for a story called Exodus Prime. The story about space travel in the early 1800's. This sequence explores the breakthrough discovery of a mysterious chemical only found in one species of shark. The Megaladon. Much like how whales were harvested for industrial purposes during that time these rare and large creatures were hunted to extinction for the precious oil contained in their livers. When under intense pressure and heat this oil produces a chemical reaction that unlocks a new propulsion system that kickstarts the space race much earlier in our history.
The sequence starts with a follow up on an expedition to an mysterious and well hidden island. Relationships have already been established between the natives and the Europeans. The natives on an island are a well developed fishing village. They specialize in catching, processing and preserving large sea animals.

The main investors of the expedition return a year later to check up on progress. They are greeted by the head scientist. They are about to embark on a journey that will ultimately tear the world apart.
